NEW cases of coronavirus that have closed a Port Stephens school and a daycare centre have been linked to the Thai Rock restaurant in Sydney.

NSW Health confirmed one of the cases is a child who attended Tomaree Public School. The school is closed today while contact tracing and cleaning is underway.
Another case associated with the Thai Rock cluster is a one-year-old child who attends Goodstart Early Learning Anna Bay. The centre will be closed today while contact tracing and cleaning is underway.

It comes after a Port Stephens man in his 60s, linked to the same cluster, was diagnosed with the virus.
In NSW, there were 19 new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night bringing the total number of cases in the state to 3444.
There have now been 46 cases associated with the Thai Rock restaurant cluster.
Hunter New England Local Health District is urging anyone who visited the following locations to watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested immediately should any respiratory symptoms or fever occur:
- Salamander Bay Village Woolworths on July 17 between 2.30pm to closing time, July 18 between 4pm to closing time, July 19 between 12.45pm to closing time, and July 20 between 3pm to closing time.
- The Fingal Bay Café and Takeaway on July 17 between 11.30am - 12 midday.
NSW Health said the Woolworths store had been deep cleaned overnight with extra attention to touch points.
The café had also been thoroughly cleaned and there was "no ongoing risk" to the community at this venue.
