Tamworth library's Innovation Studio online tutorials kept hundreds of kids busy in school holidays

The Innovation Studio at Tamworth library taught kids all kinds of tricks during the break.

Learning how to make your own butter with a marble, creating a stop motion animation from scratch and building your own weather station with a balloon were just a few items on the lengthy list.

"The most popular so far was when we made homemade ice cream," the Innovation Studio's Julian Mann said. "We've had a really good response from people ... we're really happy with it."

This kind of hands-on homework would normally be capped at about 10 people per session if it were in-person, Mr Mann said.

But, the COVID-19 crisis has given studio staff the chance to wrangle a much larger online crowd of young creatives.

And, the fun doesn't have to stop when the school gates reopen to students today.

The tutorials are filmed and posted online, so people can access them by heading to YouTube or to the Innovation Studio's Facebook.
