Tamworth Baseball kicked off with four matches across two grades on a day when temperatures reached a high of 11 degrees.
Tamworth Baseball Incorporated vice president Allan Clegg said the players had to get used to that regardless and they were just happy to be out there.
"Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves," he said.
"It was good to see people out there again.
"It's a big thing to get it up and going this year."

The 2020 competitions have three teams in A grade and five in B grade.
With only three teams in A grade, one team will double up each week.
In round one, it was Cougars who played two matches.
They started strong with a 9-2 victory over Outlaws in the first game.
They then came up against Warriors who claimed a 5-1 victory.
The Warriors' B grade side backed up their A grade team's effort.
They beat Cougars Maroon 9-5.
In the final match of the round, Outlaws scored an impressive 19-6 win over Pandas.
While the 2020 season has just started, Clegg was already looking ahead to secure the future of the competition.
"Hopefully in the near future we can get juniors happening again," Clegg said.
"There is a bit of support there and it's good to have that support but you've got to have doers. "It will be discussed a bit later in the year."
