Budding young tennis stars hit the West Tamworth Tennis Club's Belmore Park courts on Monday for the first day of the Perform With Power Tennis Academy, Tamworth School Holiday Clinic.

The four-day camp will wrap up on Thursday and has attracted a capacity 80 potential future Roger Federer's and Ash Barty's.
A regular fixture on the school holiday calendar, the COVID pandemic meant the last camp was unable to go ahead.

Now with players getting back out on the court, Perform With Power Tennis Academy head coach Mitch Power said it's great to see the kids being able to enjoy the sport again.
"It's really nice to be back on the court and being able to supply some tennis and get the kids outside," he said.
The camp has proven popular with spots nearly filling up within a week, and Power having to turn people away.
Normally numbers are unlimited but in the interests of the safety of the participants he thought it best to cap the numbers.
"I just felt with all that's going on 80 was a pretty manageable number," he said.
He said it is usually 50-50 of kids that they already coach that are just looking to keep active during the holidays and keep their eye in for any tournaments they have coming up, and kids that haven't played any tennis, or a lot of, before.
"It's (camp) a pretty good place to start," he said.
Through a partnership with the Liverpool Plains Shire Council, the academy will also run a two-hour clinic at Currabubula on Tuesday afternoon and Quirindi on Thursday.
