The Rock Show Oz Edition is set to take the stage at the Capitol Theatre on September 4.
The theatre has been closed since March due to COVID-19 restrictions, but with coronavirus rules easing in NSW, the show's co-producer has high hopes it will go on.
The Rock Show Oz Edition features covers from rock bands like the Bee Gees, INXS, Cold Chisel, AC/DC, and the Choirboys over the course of the two-and-a-half hour performance.
Co-producer Coralea Cameron said it showcased the best of Australian rock music from the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

The Rock Show Oz Edition was one of the last Ms Cameron co-produced with her late husband, Aussie rock icon Jon English.
"Jon never actually got to perform this show," she said. "I'm determined to see it through in his honour."
Mr English died at the age of 66 in 2016.
A previous show called Trilogy of Rock was set to come to Tamworth and be played to a sold-out Capitol Theatre in 2016, but had to be cancelled after Mr English's shock death.
"I like to think that even though we had to cancel the Trilogy of Rock show in Tamworth, he'd be pretty happy that we're going back there now and seeing The Rock Show Oz Edition through in his memory for his fans," Ms Cameron said.
The coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the Capitol Theatre's schedule and plays, musicals and performances have been forced to be cancelled or postponed.
Tamworth Regional Council manager of entertainment venues Peter Ross said his team is looking forward to the theatre reopening.
He confirmed ticket holders will be eligible for a refund if the upcoming rock show needs to be rescheduled because of coronavirus restrictions.
Tickets are on sale for the Rock Show Oz Edition on September 4, and can be bought online or at the reopened Capitol Theatre box office.
