Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) farewelled Mr White after his 49 years of work alongside them.
He is retiring from his most recent role at the Quirindi landfill and recycling depot.
"Jim White has had an association with LPSC and it predecessors, Tamarang Shire and Quirindi Municipal Councils, for 49 years," Mayor Andrew Hope explained.
On behalf of Council I thank Jim for his commitment to the community over all those years and upon his retirement I wish him and his family all the best in the coming years.

He started out working for Tamarang Shire in 1971, and became a team member with Quirindi Council after the amalgamation.
Mr White took a break between 1989 and 1993, where he came back to work for the Quirindi Aboriginal Corporation (QAC), and took over the management of the Quirindi landfill on council's behalf.
"During his tenure, recycling was introduced as part of the management of what became the landfill," Cr Hope said.
When kerb side collection was changed from manual handling to the current system Jim oversaw the introduction of the recycling plant operations.

"QAC's operations also provided opportunities for Aboriginal employment at the Centre," Cr Hope continued.
"On behalf of Council I thank Jim for his commitment to the community over all those years and upon his retirement I wish him and his family all the best in the coming years."
