More than $8.2 million has been approved for an "ambitious suite" of works and projects slotted for the Liverpool Plains Shire.

The Liverpool Shire Council adopted the combined Delivery Program and Operational Plan at their recent extraordinary meeting.
Mayor Andrew Hope said the combined Delivery Program and Operational Plan, which was includes Council's budget and fees, has been designed to support economic development as the region adjusts to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In recent times our Shire has been significantly impacted by drought and COVID-19 and we are working hard to support local industry and jobs, and get our economy moving again.

The works are set to be started soon, and will continue over the next 12 months.
Infrastructure projects including the Quipolly Water Project, Quirindi Library Precinct Renewal and Werris Creek Industrial Precinct Southern Access will get underway.
Planned sealed and unsealed road programs are also budgeted for.
The Eastside Child Care Centre will get a refurbishment, and David Taylor Oval will have its public amenities upgraded, as will Bell Park and Willow Tree Recreation Centre.
The combined Delivery Program and Operational Plan was placed on exhibition for a month to enable the community to provide feedback on the proposed capital works program and budget.
Mayor Hope thanked his fellow councillors, LPSC management and staff for the many hours they put into developing the budget.
He also thanked the community members who provided submissions to help shape the plan.

"Our 2020-21 budget is an ambitious but realistic one focused on ensuring services and projects are delivered in the best possible way providing best value for money for the communities we serve," Cr Hope said.
