Tamworth Baseball Incorporated president Craig Lee said the decision to lock in the date was made after the NSW Government's announcement to allow senior community sport to return from July 1.
"We set a tentative start date of July 4 and it ended up being the right one," Lee said.
A draw and player numbers are still to be finalised with TIB meeting on Tuesday night to further discuss the finer details.

"We've got a rough idea on what [player numbers] clubs have got," Lee said.
"We'll meet tonight [Tuesday] to figure out how we'll structure the season.
"I know some clubs are doing individual sign-on days but we should be set to roll on July 4."
Being a non-contact sport has worked in favour for the baseball competition.
It means they won't have to get used to contact - which is only allowed from July 1 - at training before returning to the field. Other codes, which have contact, that are returning are likely aiming for a July 18 start.
