On the home straight, Keagan Latham positioned the five-year-old metropolitan winner alongside UK stallion Chief Ironside and went on to record a narrow victory over the fast-finishing, James Cummings-trained Phaistos (Grant Buckley).
The fast-finishing, Chris Waller-trained Sambro (Lee Magorrian) was third, with the Kris Lees-trained Chief Ironside (Samantha Clenton) finishing fourth after being swamped at the post by a wall of horses.

Dr Drill - trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace - was the third top weight in the race (56.5kg) and paid $12 for the win (fixed odds).
He now has seven wins from 23 starts.
And after claiming the $83,000 first prize, he has almost $623,000 in career earnings.
The Bernie Kelly-trained local hope Bobbing (Tom Sherry) finished second last in the 16-horse field.
Tamworth gelding Unbiased (Robert Thompson) finished 13th.
In the following race at Scone on Friday - the last on the card - two jockeys were injured after being dislodged in the straight.
Jenny Duggan (riding Steamboat Sally) injured her shoulder and ankle and was expected to be airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, while Robert Thompson (Tombolo) appeared to be uninjured.
Because of coronavirus restrictions, the normally well-attended Scone Cup meeting did not feature punters - and the two-day carnival has been halved, with Saturday's card transferred to Rosehill.
