Scenario planning shows that AFL North West clubs would compete in a "traditional" premiership season - if the competition commenced during a two-month window, according to AFL NSW/ACT.

That window is mid-June to mid-August.
In an email to leagues this week, Simon Smyth - AFL NSW/ACT regional manager northern NSW - said: "Pleasingly, all scenarios commencing within this window provide clubs an opportunity to compete in a traditional premiership season, highlighted by the chance to play each opponent at least once in the minor rounds and an exciting finals series.

"We are also making good progress and collaboratively working with our fellow winter and summer state sporting organisations as it relates to a revised 2020 winter season."
Smyth said current training restrictions in NSW remained in place. That means a maximum of two people can train together.
The governing body will hold an online meeting with AFL North West clubs next Thursday, where it will provide further details on its "return-to-play roadmap".
