The government's COVID-19 contact tracing phone application has already been downloaded onto more than three million Aussie phones just three days after launching.

Yet some remain hesitant - but not Business NSW's NENW Regional Manager Joe Townsend, nor computer specialist Adam Petronaitis.
They say the COVIDSafe app will pave the way forward to fast-track post-lockdown recovery.
Mr Townsend said most businesses were jumping on board.
"We've spoken with some business who have indicated they have a phone at the front door of the business with the app," he said.
"In that way it tracks customers as they come in, obviously only the ones who also have the app downloaded."
While initially advocating for a panel of trusted community leaders to act as custodians for the data, he said they'd "gone quiet" in that area as the government releases more information.
"The government has done a reasonable job showing concerns are ill warranted, and I think it's reassuring as a resident that the data will be deleted after 21 days."
The data can't even be used in a criminal investigation.
For him, the ends of getting our communities back up and running "justifies the means."
Mr Petronaitis from Technitune said he now had no concerns after thoroughly researching the app.
As an individual who places paramount importance on privacy and security, he said after examining all the angles, he downloaded it himself.
"A lot of people are concerned ... that it will be tracking their location, and it will be uploading that data to the cloud or the internet," he said.

"It uses Bluetooth to determine who is nearby within a few meters radius. It stores that data on your phone, so nothing leaves your phone.
"If you test positive, you go into the app and upload the information. At no point prior to that is it anywhere but stored safety on your phone."
But can changes be made re-purposing the app once it's downloaded?
"They could release an update that modifies how the software works, but the development community will be interested in taking it all apart ... everyone would be alerted pretty quickly," he assured.
The app allows anonymity, with the only vital piece of information your phone number to send alerts.
