Event co-ordinator Ross Durham said while the event was down on numbers from last year, the level of competition was very high.
"We had a number of riders come over from Tamworth to take part and the feedback I got from everyone was really positive," Durham said.
"I think we were a little down on numbers from last year, but that was probably due to people having other commitments.
"However, Pete was just outstanding.
"He really showed his class and was very impressive on his way to victory.
"Nathan Brown was really solid in second place, while Shaun Barnes was awesome in third."
Durham said the club would now turn its attention to the annual Sundowner Cycling Classic.
"At this stage it is penciled in for June 13, but that is still to be confirmed," he said.
"We had about 120 riders take part last year, but in the past, we have had more than 160 get involved.
"There's going to be a really great presentation at the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club at the end of the race.
"It's always a highly-anticipated event and we're really looking forward to it."
In preparation for the Sundowner, Durham said members would compete in other events across the region.
"There are a few different events coming up in Tamworth and other places in the next few weeks," he said.
"Most of our members will go and support those other clubs and get involved.
"I think it is really important to support the other clubs in the region and continue to help the sport grow overall.
"We have quite a few younger members and the more competitions they can get to the better."
