POLICE have seized more than 20 cannabis plants after uncovering a crop on a farm near Tamworth.

Oxley officers raided the property off the Duri-Wallamore Road at Bithramere on Wednesday morning.
During the search, officers uncovered the crop of 21 cannabis plants; what they allege is an amount of cannabis leaf; as well as drug paraphernalia.
Police also seized ammunition which they allege was not secured.

Acting on information, the raid unfolded about 10.10am and several police searched the property, 25km west of Tamworth.
During the raid, police also seized a registered firearm at the scene and have issued a 50-year-old man with a firearms suspension notice.
No charges have been laid over the drug seizure.
Investigations are continuing.
