The coastal side essentially ended their state championship title hopes by defeating them convincingly in their opening game in Orange.
The eventual runners-up, they bowled Tamworth out for 134.
Ben Crowe was the shining light with the bat for Tamworth with 72no, David Marshall (14) and captain Steve Wilson (11) the only other batsmen to make double figures.
Wilson was run-out, his dismissal triggering a bit of a collapse. At one stage they lost 4-10.
It was a tough start for the side drawing last year's runners-up Riverina in their second game.
After a "much better batting performance" they made 208.
"Pretty much everyone contributed with the bat," Wilson said.
Warren Faulkner (46no) and Phil Constable (40no) were the top-scorers.
Riverina though were able to pass Tamworth's score with around two overs to spare.

Tamworth built on the improvement of the second day in their final game against the Mid North Coast Marlins.
After dismissing the Marlins for 136 with Constable and Dean Petty both snaring 3-29, and Craig Salter 2-4, they chased the runs down with plenty of overs to spare.
Crowe top-scored with 35 while Salter made 29no and Steve Allen 24.
"It was a good win to finish the carnival with," Wilson said.
Having finished third last year they went into the carnival with high hopes but had to settle for about seventh.
"It was not quite as successful as last year but was still a pretty good three days," Wilson said.
Except for the first day they played pretty well, and he said everyone contributed at some stage with the bat and the ball.
He said they are keen to put a better performance together on Sunday, especially with the bat, and restore the ledger.
Before the championships they beaten Central Coast the last three or four times they'd played them.
