After 160 years, the National Australia Bank (NAB) will relocate from its Fitzroy Street home, but its equipment will be sold off and the proceeds will be distributed to families in need by the CWA.
NAB regional manager Warrick Grieve said Tuesday's auction would be the perfect way to end the bank's tenure in the building.

"As far as I know, no other bank has ever done something like this," Mr Grieve said.
"It's a first for NAB and a first for any bank really.
"The auction will be carried out pro-bono by McCulloch Agencies and with the help of StockLive, there's no reserve prices and all the funds go to helping local families.
"Hopefully everyone can get behind this great cause."
McCulloch Agencies general manager Daniel McCulloch said drought was still an issue for many families, despite the recent rainfall.
"Just because it has rained recently doesn't mean this drought is over," Mr McCulloch said.
"This could be in the order of $40 or $50,000.
"It's not going to be a small donation from NAB, it's a massive thing.
Locals will have their chance to get a first-hand look at the building during two open for inspections on Saturday morning (10am-11am) and Monday evening (4pm-5pm).
"I think there will be a lot of local businesses looking to restock some of their gear and looking for a bargain," Mr McCulloch said.
"With the two inspections we have coming up, there's a really good chance for people to just come and have a sticky beak if they want to.
"Nobody has ever really been up here to have a look.
"It would be great to have a lot of people to come through and have a look."
As well as an action-packed auction, Mr Grieve said there was plenty of other fun planned for the day.
"Once we finish the auction in the first building, we will head up to 202 Bridge Street and auction off everything in there," he said.
"It finished up on Thursday and not only have no staff been impacted by the move, we have added 35 new staff into our connect centre.
"Everyone is coming together for the first time, which is really exciting.
"As for the auction day, the CWA will be running a barbecue throughout the event and we will also be offering a guessing game for the total amount of money we raise.
"All up it should be a great day and we hope to see everyone there."
Tuesday's auction begins at 10am.
