On Wednesday, the community gathered to celebrate the brigade's 100th anniversary and to honour the service of its current members.
Quirindi captain Graham Batho said he was very proud to be a part of the centenary celebrations.

"The crew we have at the minute fill me with pride because they put in their best every day," Mr Batho said.
"There's 10 of us all together and everyone is involved because they want to give back to the community.
"I feel very proud to be captain of this brigade, especially during our 100th anniversary."
A 36-year veteran of the service, Mr Batho said he had seen many changes during his tenure.
"I'm a builder by trade, but everyone in our crew brings something different to the table," he said.
"We currently have two positions open at the moment, it's a pretty rewarding service to be in and I'm sure those positions will be filled soon.
"I think the future is looking very bright for our brigade."
Recording 50 call outs last year alone, NSW Fire and Rescue commissioner Paul Baxter said "Quirindi is a small station with a big heart."
"Our motto is to be prepared for everything and Quirindi is a shining example of that," Mr Baxter said.
"Of the 50 call outs the brigade had last year, I would say fires would only make up between 10 to 20 per cent of them.
"It shows how important this service is to the community and how seriously this crew takes their role."
Mr Baxter said he was confident the brigade would continue its stellar work into the future.
"The station may have opened in 1922, but for its first two years this brigade operated with just a fire reel," he said.
"To me that shows a dedication to serving the community, which I know is still being maintained today.
"If that dedication can be maintained, which I'm sure it will be, I'm confident Quirindi will have an even prouder tradition in 100 years time."
