The Newcastle game is the first of three home games the Waratahs will play outside of Sydney.
They will tackle the Chiefs in Wollongong on March 6 and the Bulls in Tamworth on March 21.
Too many errors hurt the NSW side in the opening round as they went down to defending champions the Crusaders 43-25.
Speaking to Fox Sports News this week Newsome said one of the positives they took out of the game was how much they were creating.
"A number of line breaks there that we couldn't finish was probably the downfall for us," the Glen Innes native said.
"Our focus this week is been more about backing our play and really trying to express ourselves as we did on the weekend but focusing on the execution side of it and really trying to convert those line breaks into points."
He has retained his starting spot on the left wing with double try-scorer Mark Nawaqanitawase (Newsome scored the Waratahs other try) to start on the right wing.

"Our outside backs is probably one of the most competitive spots on the roster," Newsome said.
"Having Jack (Maddocks) come across in the off-season, [and] young Mark he's playing really well so it's been great."
"We're all feeding off each other, learning off each other's game styles and really working together to make each other better."
Meanwhile after his impressive debut for the Queensland Reds against the Brumbies last week former Gunnedah junior Harry Wilson has been named to start at No.8 for their clash with the Lions on Sunday morning (AEST time).
He's one of two northern products in the 15 with Inverell's Jock Campbell to start at 11.
