A MAN is being treated in Tamworth hospital after he was trapped when a tractor rolled on top of him near Tamworth on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on a farm off the Brackendale Road near Nowendoc about 10am.
Ambulance NSW said paramedics rushed to the property shortly after 10am after a triple zero call for a tractor rolling on top of a man.
A spokesperson said the man's right leg was initially trapped under the machinery.

He suffered leg and abdominal injuries and was also treated for back pain and cuts to his body.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked from Tamworth to collect the 53-year-old patient, the chopper service said.
The helicopter's critical care medical team stabilised the man at the scene before he was flown to Tamworth hospital for emergency treatment.
He was listed in a stable condition.
