The season-ending injury to Brumbies prop Les Leulua'ial'i-Makin has opened up a spot on the Brumbies' roster.
The tighthead prop was due to rejoin the Brumbies ahead of their season opener against the Reds, but ruptured his achilles tendon playing in Japan, ruling him out for the season.
Abra's named has been thrown about as a potential replacement.
After playing for the Canberra Vikings during last year's National Rugby Championships, the Tamworth native has been training with the Super Rugby squad during the pre-season, and will continue to do so in Leulua'iali'i-Makin's absence.

Brumbies coach Dan McKellar said they will be having a look around to see who's available as a replacement but are "happy with how Bo Abra is progressing after training with our squad during pre-season".
He was on the weekend part a squad containing a mixture of Super Rugby contracted players as well as Brumbies Academy and up-and-coming youngsters at the club, that beat the Melbourne Rebels with a penalty with the last kick of the game in the first of two trial games between the two clubs in Albury.
There are already three northern products involved in Super Rugby squads with Glen Innes' Alex Newsome with the NSW Waratahs, and Inverell's Jock Campbell and former Gunnedah junior Harry Wilson part of the Queensland Reds' squad.
The Brumbies will kick-off their campaign against the Reds on Friday night.
