It's 9:15am and already Bev and Bob Cribb have chained their camp chairs to a tree in Toyota Park.
The Mt Barker couple from the Adelaide Hills have been at Tamworth Country Music Festival for the past two decades.
"We've been coming here for 20 years but we always got stuck out the back and couldn't see," Mrs Cribb said.
"This year we heard a storm was coming so we thought we'd get under a tree and have a spot.
"We're not going to sit here all day, we've got it locked down so we have a spot."
And, they aren't the only early birds who've got the worm - at least seven other camp chairs mark front-row territory for the opening concert with the same pride of the Apollo 11 Moon landing.
Headlined by Adam Brand, it's his only big stage show at this year's festival and is expected to draw a huge crowd.
With wet weather predicted, the couple made a quick trip to Bunnings and they've slung some tarpaulin over the fold-outs.
In the past, festival-goers have moved camp chairs from their spots, that explains the chain.
Where the Cribbs are from, the country music scene is pretty low-key.
"The festival hasn't really changed over the years but it will be interesting to see how it goes with this weather and the lack of people," Mr Cribb said.
"I think they've improved on a few things over the years but all-in-all it's good, we love it."
