The decision was announced on the Tamworth Country Music Festival Facebook page.
"Out of respect to Australians affected by bushfires over the past months, we will not be having fireworks at this year's festival," the statement read.

"Funds will be reinvested into more family-friendly activities including the new Festival Fringe running every night at the bottom of Fitzroy Plaza, and we will continue to support the funding of drought and fire-related charities and events.
"We take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the NSW RFS alongside other agencies for their hard work to keep us all safe.
"We also would like to remind visitors that though the #TamworthNSW region is largely unaffected by bushfires, we encourage you to consult both the Live Traffic and Fires Near Me apps for the most up-to-date information throughout your journey."
