THE Boggabri Kangaroos have begun their 2020 season preparations in strong fashion with two high-intensity training sessions.

Beginning on January 6, the Roos' training sessions have consisted of a mixture of skills-based exercises and fitness drills.
So far, more than 35 different senior players have taken to the training track in preparation for the upcoming Group 4 season.

Roos coach Shane Rampling said the club was working hard at being successful both on and off the field.
"We are averaging about 20 players at training so far, which is a good start," Rampling said.
"Off the field, the club has managed to retain all of its sponsors from last year and bring a few new ones in as well.
"Things are going pretty well off the field and if we can mirror that success on the field it should be a good year for the club."
Rampling said the club was playing to bolster its playing stocks with "experienced and high-quality players".
"We have already managed to sign former Barradine backrower Bevan Flanagan for this season," he said.
"Bevan will be a great inclusion for us as he used to play with Nick Millar at Bathurst, so he's a top-quality player.
"As well as Devon, Aaron Hogbin is back from injury and we should be welcoming a couple more new players next week, and hopefully three or four more as we get closer to the season.
"Our local guys have been really knuckling down and working hard, so these inclusions are really designed to fit in around them."
The club will be without Andrew Cameron who will be returning to soccer and Kahn Juhnke for the 2020 season.
"It is a bit disappointing to lose those guys, but we have managed to hold onto most of our core group, which is pleasing," Rampling said.
"We are currently training on Monday nights at Jubilee Oval through January, before going to Monday and Thursday nights in February."
