But while Tamworth were beaten by Narrabri in the big one, the War Veterans Cup finale, Tamworth won two of the three junior finals played on the day.
In the under-16 Ross Taylor Cup final at No 1 Oval, Tamworth beat Inverell by five wickets.
Put into bat, Inverell reached 166 before being dismissed in the 49th over.
Tamworth Blue then passed the total in the 47th over, finishing on 5-167.
Tamworth Blue No 4 Kilian Apen top-scored with a well-crafted 110-ball 53.
He also claimed 2-45 off 10 overs in a man-of-the-match performance.

For Inverell, Jake House struck a 82-ball 72, with Matthew Holmes leading the Tamworth attack (3-18 off 9.2 overs).
Tamworth coach Damian Henry said: "They probably made more runs than what we would've liked. But our batsmen did really well, our bowlers stuck to the task."
He added: "The boys did really well. They kept wickets in hand. It was a good effort from them all ... It was an all-round good performance: everyone contributed at various times."
In the under-14 Tim Grosser Cup final at Riverside 1, Tamworth Blue had a 145-run victory over Inverell.
Tamworth were dismissed for 184 in the last over, with Harry Lewington (53) top-scoring. Sam McLennan took 3-20 for Inverell, who were then removed for 39.
Two Tamworth bowlers - Logan Spinks and Tom Aitken - both took three wickets.
In the under-12 Ross Panton Cup final, Armidale downed Tamworth Blue by six wickets.
Tamworth were removed for 78, and Armidale passed the target in the 25th over.
