The veteran runs machine belted a 90 not out that included four sixes and eight boundaries as the Bulls reached 2-176 in the first of the T20s, at Riverside 1 on Saturday. Bective East then dismissed South Tamworth for 110 in the 18th over.
Bulls opener and captain Jye Paterson made 50, while Bulls opening bowler Lachlan Davidson took 3-20 off four overs.
Bective East went into the clash last on the ladder, with one win.
They were also in need of a T20 lift last season, and got it - earning a spot in the final against Old Boys.
Jones said Saturday's result was a good foundation to do that again. "It's only one win at the moment, but it's nice to get that," he said. "So hopefully we can string a few [wins together].
