It comes as the chamber says the drought has essentially put a "freeze" on new businesses opening and joining the organisation in the area.
At this week's ordinary meeting, the councillors will vote on giving the chamber an additional $45,000 over the next three years.

The council already makes an annual contribution of $45,000 of cash and in-kind support.
The main factors behind the call for increased support include a regular commitment from the council for the annual shop local Christmas campaign.
Chamber president Jye Segboer said the request should also mean the group won't have to pass on any cost increase for the annual business awards night to its members.
Which is why it is important for the council to show it support of the business community at large.

The council's report said the chamber's new proposal included $30,000 of in-kind support which would cover the use of TRECC during the business awards night.
The chamber also requested "the balance of $30,000 in cash to be paid on invoice".
For the last three years, the council has offered $20,000 in cash and $25,000 in-kind support.
The council also previously voted in favour of sponsoring the shop local campaign with a one-off $15,000 contribution.
The report to be considered by the council said the chamber has about 400 "financial members".
A number which has essentially stalled in economically stifling conditions.
"There have been no new businesses opening in the area with the drought being the main contributor," Mr Segboer said.
"Which is why it is important for the council to show its support of the business community at large."
The funding of this partnership agreement will come from budget savings to be identified by the executive management team. The report to council recommends supporting the proposal.
