Gunnedah councillors push for Rangari Road, Gunnedah Hospital projects to be delivered

Councillors voted to urge Mr Anderson to push harder on the build of the new $53 million Gunnedah hospital, and to start the $9 million sealing of Rangari Road.

Colleen Fuller put forward the motion at Wednesday's council meeting, saying the projects were "long overdue" and needed to be started. Deputy mayor Rob Hooke seconded this motion.

Mayor Jamie Chaffey commended Cr Fuller on bringing forward the motion.

"The investment has already been committed during the election campaign ... they definitely could be of great use to bring great stimulus into the community," Cr Chaffey said.

Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party member Jeff Bacon also recently called on Mr Anderson to deliver the promised projects, saying there should be "no delay".

The two projects were announced in the state budget in June, but no further updates on start dates for Rangari Road have been given.

It was also announced in June that a community consultation committee would be set up for the hospital build, and that it would commence prior to March 2023.

There has been no updates on the hospital project since then.
