The club has raised tens of thousands of dollars selling books at the Tamworth Paceway during the past week and the support has blown Mr Clark away.
Initially, the Lions Club was set to donate its proceeds to prostate cancer research.
But Mr Clark said the Tamworth club would look to split the monies to assist with bushfire and drought appeals as well.
"This was the best presented event, given the current climate, the bushfires and drought, it wasn't far off our best yet," he said.
The huge amount of sales over the week was proved to Mr Clark there was still a place in the world for the printed word.
"The e-readers haven't taken over yet," he said.
