Armidale has a host of young talented females including Central North representative player Vanessa Simpson and NSW PSSA representative Sophie Parsons.
A team of girls are playing for Hillgrove in the Armidale under-10s competition and are having a ball with long-term player Andrew Curry showing them the ropes.
"It is just good because there are so many opportunities for the girls now," Curry said.
"It is good to see them outside enjoying themselves instead of in front of the computer."
The Armidale Express went along to a training session to find out what they enjoy about the sport and here is what we found out.
