Heading into the finals on Thursday, North West have two wins from six matches.
On Thursday, sixth-placed North West will play fifth-placed Sydney West.
North West coach Chris Boyko said his charges "played fantastic" on Wednesday.
"The boys really improved throughout the day," Boyko told the Leader.
"In fact, I've had quite a few people mention to me that they think we are the most improved team at the tournament.
"In saying that, we still went through the day without a win, so I know all of the guys will want to finish on a high note on Thursday."
North West will now look ahead to a fifth-place playoff match against Sydney West from 11.40am on Thursday.
"We finished sixth at the tournament last year, so we are determined to go one better this year," Boyko said.
"It's been amazing to see all of our guys improve as the tournament's gone on and I really think they deserve to finish in winning fashion."
Boyko said this year's tournament "would be a real learning curve" for his side's younger players.
"We do have quite a few younger players in our side and I'm confident this year's results will hold them in good stead for the future," he said.
"Hopefully we can finish on a high note."
