Headlining the day will be former Australian Men's Cricket head coach, John Buchanan, delivering his Leadership forum from his "Everest Program".
"Buck" Buchanan has more than 30 years of experience as an elite international coach.
He was at the helm for the Australian cricket team during the period known as the Golden Era of Australian cricket, which featured the likes of the Waugh brothers, Gilchrist, Warne and McGrath.
Buchanan led the side to numerous successes, including a world-record 16 consecutive Test match victories and 23 ODI victories in World Cup tournaments.
He also coached the Aussies on successful summer tours including Ashes domination and a whitewash of the Super Series that saw the Aussies up against a World XI.
In 2007 his team won their third consecutive World Cup.
While creating continual success, Buchanan's unorthodox methods have raised a few eyebrows and Shane Warne was dismissive about his role in the team while plenty put their world cup dominance down to these methods.
This is the third year NIAS has offered the development program aimed at giving back to our region's coaches and NIAS CEO James Cooper can't wait for the day.
"Coach development has become a real area of focus in recent years, the NSW Office of Sport and Regional Academy network have identified the need to up skill our coaching teams across the state, which filters down to quality of coaching for our regions most promising pre-elite athletes."
Head coach of the Glen Innes Servies Netball program Sophie Sincock loves the concept of Coaching the Coaches while preparing and learning for the upcoming season.
"Days like this are invaluable to coaches within the region, not only do we learn from the presenters but being in the same room with fellow coaches for the day creates a wealth of knowledge," Sincock said.
The coach development day is open to the public at no cost. Contact NIAS on 02 6766 2526 by COB Friday.
