TRC sport and development officer Sam Eriksson said the information gathered would be vital to council's future plans.
"The TRC sport and recreation strategic plan will provide a road map for planning and development of all council sport, recreation and open space facilities," he said.
"The information we receive through the survey and workshops will be used to form a prioritised action plan to guide the provision of new facilities and enhancement of existing ones to meet the needs of the growing community."
Council's online survey was launched on Monday and will run until December 16.
The first of the consultation meetings will be held at the Kootingal Bowling Club on November 25.
Followed by meetings at the Nundle Library on November 26, Tamworth Community Centre on November 27, the Alice Street council building in Barraba on November 28, the Manilla Small Town Hall on November 28 and the Tamworth Community Centre on November 29.
