THE MAN charged with the sexual assault of a woman in her home will spend Christmas in prison after his bail was refused in Tamworth Local Court on Friday.

Zeb Levi Nye was charged with 16 sexual assault and firearm related offences.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Oxley Police District officers received information about an alleged sexual assault of a woman in her home in Manilla.
Police arrested 30-year-old Nye about three hours later. A crime scene was established and gel firearms seized, which are prohibited given their similarities to military weapons.

Nye was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with six counts of sexual intercourse without consent; sexual touching; three counts of possession of an unregistered firearm; three counts of possession of an unauthorised firearm and three counts of not keeping a firearm safe.
He will return to court in January 2020.
