Carinya Christian Schools' open boys cricket side will be out to exact some revenge when they meet Northern Beaches Christian School later this term in the quarter-finals of the Christian School Sports Association (CSSA) cricket competition.

The Sydney-based school beat them in the final of the competition last year.
Carinya's under-15s side are also scheduled to match up against the Sydney side after both were undefeated at the recent gala day at Singleton to make it through to the final eight and continue the school's successful run in the competition.
"The last couple of years we've made it to the quarter-finals or semi-finals, which has been pretty good," Carinya Christian School sports co-ordinator Charles Bickersteth said
At the gala day, the opens defeated Belmont Christian College and Taree Christian School while the under-15s also accounted for Belmont as well as Green Point Christian College and Maitland Christian School.

Bickersteth said it has been a great team effort from both sides.
"They're not relying on one person, which is good," he said.
"In the opens particularly they've all dug deep and shared it around."
In saying that there have been some great individual performances, Wesley Bowd's hat-trick for the under-15s for one.
"So many of them are playing cricket, playing grade and rep," Bickersteth said.
"They just love it."
The opens will be looking to continue their unbeaten run when they take on Calrossy in the opening round of the Douglas Shield (independent schools open competition) in Quirindi on Thursday.
Bickersteth said the boys are looking forward to it and is expecting a close contest.
"We'll have to play well to beat them," he said.
The under-15s are also set to play Calrossy in the first round of their equivalent competition the Wiburd Shield.
