Sophie Parson's magnificent performance at the NSW PSSA Girls Cricket Championships has earned the Ben Venue student a second state cap.

The allrounder was a standout for the North West side at Campbelltown and duly named in the NSW side to play at the School Sport Australia Championships for the second year in a row.
The North West co-captain, Parsons was the sixth highest run-scorer overall for the carnival with 144 runs and a highest score of 35*.
Batting at the top of the order she carried her bat twice and only failed to make more than 20 once.
"She was very composed and very sensible about the shots that she played," North West manager Kelly Archibald said.
Parsons was also North West's equal leading wicket-taker, with Ross Hill's Georgie Leonard, with nine wickets.

Her state selection capped off a "great carnival" for the North West side, who from 11th last year finished fourth with five wins and two losses (they defeated Hunter by six wickets, Sydney East by eight wickets, South Coast by six wickets, Polding by seven wickets and Sydney South West by five wickets).
Their two losses were against eventual runners-up Sydney North and a Combined Independent Schools side featuring Calrossy's Georgia Davidson in their final play-off game.
Chasing CIS's 5-101, North West could only muster 5-75 in reply.
It was the only game they conceded over 100 runs, the bowlers setting a great platform throughout the carnival.
Among the best performances was Leonard's 3-7 and Caitlin Fittler's (Kentucky) 3-1 from one to wrap up the win over Sydney South West, while with the bat Molly Armstrong (Gravesend) scored 27 against South Coast and was their top-scorer against Sydney North with 23.
Archibald was "really proud" of the girls particularly the way they conducted themselves.
"Their sportsmanship was outstanding," she said.
It was her third time taking away the side and she sighted their batting and fielding as the two areas they really improved in from last year.
Davidson didn't have a lot of opportunities with the bat but bowled in all seven of CIS' games. In what was a good learning experience she finished with four wickets with a best of 1-4 off five, with two maidens, against Sydney South West.
