Violet Rolinson fundraiser to be held

The Generous Hearts fundraiser will be held on November 16 - but Violet herself and parents Reanna Beasley and Dan Rolinson might be notable absences.

They're weighing up a pacemaker or heart transplant for the 11-month-old, who has some serious heart conditions.

Ms Beasley said they'd recently returned from Melbourne after consultations with specialists there and were due back when the fundraiser rolled around.

"They gave us the option of doing a transplant or putting in a pacemaker; they sent us home to discuss that and come to a decision," she said.

"They've been calling overseas doctors about pacemakers, because there's not many statistics in children, but he called me on Friday and said he would recommend a pacemaker ...

"If it's not successful she can still get a transplant; however, a transplant is the end of the line.

"Her condition is extremely rare in babies: she doesn't just have dilated cardiomyopathy; she has a bundle branch blockage, which is not common in babies at all."

A Gofundme page set up for Violet has raised $2640, acknowledging the "huge toll ... both emotionally and financially" on the families of her parents.

Next month's fundraiser will feature live music from Sam Snape, and a mechanical bull.

Auctions will include prizes such as tattoo vouchers, hair services, and even a five-night holiday for six people at Lake Cathie.

There will be face-painting, a jumping castle, lucky dips, snow cones, and a steak/sausage sizzle.
