Duri Progress Association president Darrin Alderson said the event had been going for more than 80 years.
"This is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year and I am pleased to say this year was another big success," Alderson told the Leader.
"It's always a really fun event for us to put on and showcase the work our association does throughout the year.
"This year was made even more special because it was the first event we have run with the new fence we constructed alongside the council."
Despite hosting similar disciplines to a pony club competition, Alderson said the annual event was "a bit more laid back".
"Basically, we do a lot of the same stuff but you don't need to follow the same rules as pony club," he said.
"We just try to make it as inclusive as possible."
Alderson said the region's drought conditions had taken a toll on participation numbers.
"We were down from about 140 last year to 90 this year," Alderson said.
"It is a little bit disappointing, but we totally understand the drought makes it pretty hard for people to come to these things.
"We still had a great day and I'm confident everyone really enjoyed themselves."
