The Roosters, with the help of the Tamworth Kangaroos and Swans AFL clubs, held a gala afternoon on Thursday for Farrer students.
About 50 kids took part on the afternoon, something that delighted Roosters coach Greg Vallender.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic with the numbers. It's probably double what we expected," he said.
"It's great to see so many new kids out there kicking a Sherrin.
"Some of them are our Roosters, which is great of them to give up their afternoon to come out and help."

Vallender said it was great to see the AFL growing in the North West.
"Two years ago we had six kids running around as regulars and at stages last season, we had 32 kids playing AFL football on a Saturday morning and the way things are looking we'll grow again next year," Vallender said.
The Roosters are planning to run more clinics in the new year at Farrer.
He also said the club was keen to run the clinics at other schools in Tamworth in the lead-up to the 2020 season.
Any schools interested in hosting a gala day can make contact with the club through the Tamworth Roosters AFL Facebook page.
