The seven-year-old gelding, prepared by Cody Morgan at Tamworth, was named the HNWRA Horse of the Year before Monday's Tamworth TAB meeting in a ceremony in the John Clift Stand.
A son of Medaglia D'Oro he won this year's Tamworth Cup as well as the HNWRA heat of the of the Country Championships at Tamworth before running sixth in the Country Championship Final at Randwick and has won six of his 28 starts for $375,160.
"Great to win such a prestigious award," Morgan said.
"I thought he'd be in contention but if Brett Cavanough's horse (Star Boy) wins the Ramornie (at Grafton) he probably wins the award."
Unbiased has been a wonderful find for him winning the Gunnedah Cup and then the Country Championship heat and Cup at Tamworth before heading north and winning at Townsville before finishing second in the Townsville Cup.
His parents, Mary and Glenn Morgan, race Unbiased with good friends Donna and Mark Thomas from Molong.

"But if he doesn't go back he might look at the Dubbo Cup."
"He had a tremendous preparation last time and winning this very prestigious award is great."

Making it even better was the fact their share of the Unbiased winnings helped fund their share in Ligulate, a recent Rosehill winner for Morgan, who has been set for next year's Country Championships.
