Fiesta La Peel and the Australasian Firefighting Championships are two major drawcards this weekend in Tamworth as hoteliers find their lodgings filling up much more than usual.
A quick look on booking.com shows a large chunk of accommodation providers have a handful of rooms left while some have sold out ahead of a big weekend.

Ibis Styles hotel manager Ana Royal reported "around double" the bookings compared to a regular weekend throughout the year.
"It's a pretty busy weekend for us. Weekends can be quite quiet in town if there are no major events on," she said.
Ms Royal said events such as those happening this weekend were a huge help to the hotel business.
"In 2018 and 2019, there's probably been a little bit less business than previous years, but some great events have driven business as well," she said.
Tamworth Business Chamber president and CH Boutique Hotel owner Jye Segboer said his hotel had also seen a bump in bookings.
"At CH Boutique Hotel, we're busier than we usually are on a weekend," he said.
"[The events are] certainly people bringing people from a 200-300km radius who want to do something different of a weekend but don't want to travel too far."
Along with the firefighting championships and Fiesta La Peel, there's a stack of other events on including Dungowan Village Fair, Massage on the Mountain, Blackville Markets, Garage Sale Trail and the Petstock Microchipping Day.
Mr Segboer said businesses other than accommodation providers were hoping to take advantage of the influx of people.
"There are some smaller boutiques taking advantage and will be open until 7pm or 8pm [on Saturday]," he said.
"They [events] absolutely bring people into town from what we call the VFR market: visiting friends and relatives, people that are probably staying with family or coming to the region specifically for an event and want to do something other than be at the event.
"It's very important [business owners] can take advantage of the opportunity and support activities like Fiesta La Peel."
