The committee has made a point this year to exclusively support local business in a time when relentless drought has made things tough for everyone.

From the flowers to the lighting, the delicious food and accompanying music, every element of the sixth annual event has been locally sourced.

Committee chair Annabel Underwood said the event sold out in little over a day this year, and that those that missed out still had the opportunity to bid on auction items.

"Our silent auction and donation page is open to the public and we have some truly awesome prizes this year," she said.

"We've got a South African Safari, locally made art, two-nights at Alexandra Beach in the Sunshine Coast, a Warbird Gorge flight adventure and plenty more.

"And the best part is, all funds go directly to batyr to help run programs for young people in Tamworth."

The challenge this year is for ball-goers to work some local flair into their look, be it a pocket square, hand-made earrings, a locally designed dress or a nod to native florals.

This year Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson's band Splashpool will play at the event, with Hattie Oates providing the backing music to the welcome drinks.

The ball proudly supports batyr, a youth preventative mental health charity that has run 41 at-school programs, 10 Being Herd workshops and reached more than 3000 students here in Tamworth.
