A brand new program aimed at engaging women in an active lifestyle is on its way to Moree.

The Kick-On for Women program introduced by Northern NSW Football will officially launch on October 21 across 22 hubs throughout the state, and eight in the Northern Inland Football region.
"What we're looking to achieve is an environment where women who are less active can come and feel safe," Northern NSW Football Kick-On for Women project officer Michelle Forbes said.
"We want it to be a non-judgmental atmosphere where they can have some fun and relax and be themselves for 45 minutes a week."
The pilot program for the initiative started a year ago, commencing in term four last year and running across all four terms and was a resounding success.
Earlier this year, Northern NSW Football were recipients of a Sport Australia Participation Grant worth $116,000 to help move the program forward.
"We found that we had a retention rate of 87 percent from term three to term four," Forbes said.
"It really highlighted that women loved the program and they were looking forward to coming back."
In early August, Moree hosted a come and try day orchestrated by Wee Waa's Monique Soutter in conjunction with a home double header for the Moree Services Football Club, which was another success.
The program will kick off in Moree on Monday, October 21, from 6.30 to 7.15pm at the Moree SHAE Academy and will run for eight weeks.
It's available for all women aged 16 to 99 years old and it costs $50 to register for the term which can be done on the Northern NSW Football website.
"We're really putting an emphasis on a community for females that's about fun, football and friends," Forbes said.
