Two Oxley players - forwards Ian Allwood and Ben King - were members of the Cods side who won the inaugural tournament, which Tamworth also hosted.
Another member of the 1999 side, Ian Griffin, was injured and could not play on Thursday - but ran the water instead.
The event organiser and Cods back-rower, Richard Budd, praised his teammates for the "good commitment" they displayed.
"The forwards really held strong, and we had a strong backline," he said.
"I think one of the most pleasing things was, there were a few players who played in the first competition in 1999.
"And they were there again to win this one."
"They were really happy to be part of that," he added, "and they really enjoyed the day."
Budd said the tournament was "very successful".
"The crowd that was there really enjoyed the rugby," he said.
"It was a really high standard of rugby.
"And it was very pleasing to catch up colleagues from all over the state."
Mid North Coast beat the Hunter Hogs in the Plate final, to finish third.
