Q and A with coach Doug Meagher
How would you rate your season out of 10?
8.5/10.
Good season where we got a lot right. Further developed some young men and tried to develop a different style of ball movement. Very much spent my role more as a teacher and not so much as a coach. Made sure football was enjoyable and fun.
In your opinion, who were your top three players in 2019?
Andrew George. League best and fairest. Great person, great club man and a very good footballer.
Benny Maher. He is our skipper, another great person and an outstanding leader.
Jasper Thomas. 18 in his second year as a senior AFL player and will be an outstanding player for a long time to come as well as being a wonderful young man.

What was the highlight of 2019?
Apart from winning the premiership it would be how well the club accepted me as a new person with new ideas and made me feel so welcomed. The culture at this club is second to none.
Where does the team need to improve heading into 2020?
Across all areas of the club. Including, but not limited to, a greater commitment to pre-season, training throughout the year and we will be hoping to pick up some recruits to cover some losses of playing personnel.
Will you be coaching again next year?
I would like to go again if the club will have me!
