CRAFTING, coding, science experiments, sports and more are on the huge menu of school holiday options for the region's children this fortnight.

Libraries, galleries, sports facilities, PCYCs, shopping complexes, vacation care centres and even some school playgrounds across the region are throwing open their doors to keep the young'uns occupied.
At Tamworth City Library yesterday, children busted out feathers, cellophane, beads and glitter - so much glitter - to make their own kaleidoscopes.
Library regulars, sisters Aasiya and Azkah Fawaz, were among them and - according to Azkah, 11 - had "booked into a lot of things" at the library these holidays.

Activities across the region's 15 branches include making and operating a "hostile robot" using a VEX IQ kit; assembling and decorating wooden trains from kits put together by Tamworth Men's Shed; and making kites.
Library children's activities officer Amy Rake said there was "heaps happening" before school resumed for term 4 the week starting October 14.
"There is a balance of different things to cater for all different ages and all interests," she said.
"The activities change every school holidays; the aim is to keep it all fresh for our regulars."
