The club reflected on the year that was with awards, speeches and plenty of praise.
Despite finishing sixth on the ladder in the Central North Rugby Union competition, the Brumbies had a strong season with many individual achievements to celebrate.
Club president Duncan Pinfold kicked off proceedings by addressing the club, thanking all the volunteers, committee, coaches and everyone who assisted this year.
He then went on to thank the sponsors for their commitment to the club.
"Without them we wouldn't be able to run, so their support is greatly appreciated and we thank them," he said.
Duncan then invited Nick Johnson, head of Reserve Grade, to award the Reserve Grade awards:
Coaches Award: Alex Owen
Most Improved Reserve Grade player: Billy Smith
Best Back: Taylor Holland-Wright
Best Forward: George Gillfeather
Players Player for 2019: Gavin McGonagall
Best and Fairest: Jeff Golledge
Chris Comerford and Zach Allbon, first grade coaches, received a thank you on behalf of the club for their tireless efforts during 2019. Chris Comerford then addressed the club and players.
"We want to build a club that you want to play for, and a jersey that you respect," he said.
With that he said this was their main goal this year, it wasn't about the wins, but building a strong team.
This was evident in the wins the Brumbies had during the year, the boys playing as a team and achieving success. Both Zach and Chris are coming back on board next year to build on what they have done this year. The First Grade awards are as follows:
Coaches Award: Cam Boyle
Most Improved Player: Jordan Albury
Best Back: Jack Thomas
Best Forward: Josh Whale
Players Player: Connor Smyth
Best and Fairest: Doug McKillop
Doug McKillop also awarded the Central North zone Best and Fairest Award. This is a huge achievement for the club, and sets the standard moving forward into next year.
Ben McRae, on behalf of the McRae family, awarded his brother's Scott McRae Memorial Award to the "Best Young Talent of the Club". This was awarded to Connor Smyth.
Club Person Of The Year was awarded to two people on behalf of the club, Tanya Geary and Michelle McCauley
The final thanks was given, leaving a strong message going into next year.
"Success comes in many terms, and when you have success on the paddock, it reflects on the club, so thank you for a fantastic year, bring on 2020".
