The region's athletes shone on the track and in the field at the weekend's NSW All Schools Championships with several now turning their attention to the nationals later in the year.

McCarthy's Liam Gordon headlined the achievements, winning gold in the 13 years boys 400m.
In the process he sliced almost two seconds off the personal best he'd set a week earlier at the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Championships, running 54.52 seconds.
Gordon also picked up bronze in the 200m, again bettering his pb, and was seventh in the 100m.
Calrossy's Emma Klasen was also among the medals, sprinting her way to silver in the 17 years girls 100m after finishing fourth in the 200m.
Fresh from winning silver at the CCC titles, St Mary's Gunnedah's Isabella Sawyer finished second in the 12 years girls high jump. The medals had to be settled on countback after the first four all cleared the same height - 150m.
Sawyer made it with her second attempt, and also placed sixth in the long jump.

Warialda High's Rosemar Boyland meanwhile threw her way to silver in the girls 16-19 years para discus, while Armidale Secondary College's Amelia Mazzei won bronze in the 16-19 years girls Para 200m after placing fourth in the 100m.
Farrer's Adam Williams followed on from his golden exploits at the Combined High Schools carnival with bronze in the 14 years boys 3000m and eighth in the 1500m.
St Mary's Gunnedah's Yasmin Thomas also had a good carnival finishing third in the 16 years girls 400m, and just missing the podium in the 400m hurdles. She also made the final in the 100m crossing the line in seventh.
Carinya Christian Schools Sami Wilkie also secured a spot in the Nationals after winning bronze with a throw of 37.85m in the 15 years girls discus. Wilkie also finished ninth in the javelin.
The star of the CHS carnival for North West, Binnaway Central's Marcus Nolan continued on from his success with gold in the 12-15 years boys Para long jump, silver in the 800m and bronze in the 100m and 200m.
Narrabri's Dylan Williams also had multiple top 10 results, finishing fifth in the 16 years boys high jump and fifth in the long jump, as did Armidale Secondary College's Andre Cooper - fifth in the 14 years boys 100m and sixth in the 200m, Oxley's Paige Levingston - fifth in the 16 years girls 3000m and seventh in the 1500m, and PLC Armidale's Isabella Watts - fifth in the 15 years girls 200m and sixth in the 400m
TAS' Samuel Jones was meanwhile fourth in the 17 years boys 2000m steeplechase and Armidale Secondary College's Caleb Bettison fifth in the 14 years, Calrossy's Mitchell Clarke sixth in the 19 years boys 100m, and Armidale Secondary College's Layla Cooper seventh in the 12 years girls 200m.
The nationals will be held in Perth in December.
