The council recently voted in favour of a cash splash on the old building to carry out a range of works.
The council will use the funding to buy 15 portable folding trestle tables, 40 matching chairs, install WiFi, install internal directional signage and upgrade all the internal door hardware and locks, in the former Crown Lands building.

Councillors agreed the money represented "a good investment in both a significant heritage building and the valuable work of local volunteers".
But some suggested there could be more upgrades needed along the way.
Glenn Inglis said it was a cheap building for the council to acquire and wondered if this would stage one of more work to come.
"We will see how cheap it is over the next 10 years," he said.
Tamworth mayor Col Murray believed it would be worth it for the community in the long run.
"I think there's value having a building like that in public ownership and hopefully that outweighs the cost," he said.
"There'll be a lot of little jobs which need to be considered in the next five-to-ten years.
"We will probably see a few more reports but I think it is a building worth investing in."
Mark Rodda said there would need to be an upgrade to the toilets and kitchen in the building forward.
He said the council would do a better job of looking after the asset than other tiers of government.
