While there are plenty of border collies, dogs of all shapes and sizes take part in the event, including chihuahuas and a pit bull.
All up, the 273 dogs will work their way through a total of 3500 runs - 30 second courses - during the four-day event.
It's also used to selected the trainers for the national team, but not the dogs. Due to Australia's quarantine laws, the trainers get partnered up with another dog if the event is held overseas.
