And there's a good chance it could happen overnight.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting rain around the region over the next two days with the first of it coming in the early hours of the morning.
There's an 80 per cent chance for Tamworth to get between four and 10 millimetres on Tuesday while those clouds will hopefully hang around on Wednesday as well.
Gunnedah, Quirindi, Armidale and Glen Innes are also a chance to get a soaking while rain isn't as likely in towns around Inverell and Moree.
If the rain does eventuate, it will be the first time it has rained in Tamworth since August 12, when there was 3mm recorded at Tamworth Airport.
There is also a chance for a little more rain on Sunday.
