It was the Roos who led early after kicking the first goal of the game and kept a lead at the opening break.
It was still a tight contest at half-time with the Saints holding a one-point buffer.
The Saints turned it on in the second half to sew up the victory.
The final score read 5-6-36 to 1-1-7.
